COVID-19 - Update Tuesday 9 June

As we are now in Level 1, 'New Normal' will be the way forward. It will be the last update on this page, unless things change dramatically.

We remain up and running - everything is operational.

Under 'New Normal' we retain safety provisions as advised. We continue to record contact details when meeting and working onsite as part of our notes. Should levels change we can be flexible in how we continue to maintain and deliver services.

We hope you and your family are well and staying safe as we complete three weeks of Level 4.

We have completed some installations and updates for clients where possible. Some are on hold due to the Level 4 alert. For more details about behind the scenes and preparations we have put together a page here.

COVID-19 - Update Friday 3 April

We are noting the situation from an Earthlight perspective and will post further updates on this page. There is a tonne (which equals 115 Adult Badgers or two-thirds of a Melbourne Tram) of other information out there, so here we are concentrating on our environment and service delivery to you.

We are up and running - everything is operational.

Staff that are working are remote. The phone system is remote also. Calls to Earthlight work without diversion - kinda clever and we will talk more about that later. We have done this for clients as well.

  • Network Core is fine with no capacity issues
  • End connections connectivity is monitored
  • Data Centre checks continue - no issues
  • Backup of data is proceeding including movements to offsite storage

COVID-19 - Situation and Updates March 18

We are noting the situation from an Earthlight perspective and will post further updates on this page. There are a lot of updates out there. Here we are concentrating on our environment and service delivery to you.

Most importantly we are up and running - everything is working and staff are at work. Our data centre is part of Invermay Campus, and we are following the directions of Campus Site Management and Government Health Agencies. All staff are taking additional cleaning measures when arriving at IDC and are encouraged to stay well.

We are monitoring communications with key suppliers to be aware of their plans. We already carry spares inhouse for much of our core, as do our colleagues. This maximises our ability to directly attend to any servicing should it be required. We can also work remotely. In fact we routinely do this during normal operations.

Keeping in mind staff wellbeing, we are continuing to visit clients where it is safe to do so. Please do not be offended if we confirm everyone is well before visiting or proceeding onsite.

As always we are here to help you. If you need additional WiFi coverage, secured or greater communications please get in touch. Keep safe. Earthlight
